Meatball Recipe
A meatball is made with ground meat that has been shaped into a small ball with other ingredients including bread crumbs, minced onion, eggs, butter, and spice. Meatballs can be prepared in a variety of ways, including frying, baking, steaming, or braising in sauce. Meatballs come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and they're made with a variety of meats and seasonings.

Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh bread crumbs
- 3/4 cup whole milk, plus a little extra if necessary
- 1 pound ground beef (85% lean)
- 1 pound of pork meat, ground
- 2 large eggs
- 1 yellow onion, coarsely minced
- 2 finely minced garlic cloves (2 tsp)
- 2 tablespoons basil, finely chopped
- 3 teaspoons parsley, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoon oregano (finely chopped)
- 1 c. Parmesan cheese, finely shredded
- Salt and black pepper, freshly ground
- olive oil, 3/4 cup
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine bread crumbs and milk, adding extra milk 1 tablespoon at a time to properly moisten the bread. Allow it rest while you prepare the remainder of the ingredients.
- Add beef, pork, onion,eggs, basil, parsley, garlic,oregano, and parmesan to the breadcrumb mixture and season evenly with pepper and salt.
- Toss the mixture gently and break up the meat with your fingertips until all of the seasonings are evenly distributed.
- Form the mixture into even-sized meatballs, about 1 1/4-inch in diameter, using lubricated hands.
- Cook meatballs in a pan In a 12-inch nonstick skillet, heat 3/4 cup olive oil over medium heat.
- Cook the meatballs in three batches (to avoid overcrowding) until golden brown on the bottom, about 5 minutes. Then flip it and cook the other side until golden brown. To drain, place on paper towels.
- Submerge meatballs in marinara sauce that has been reheated in a big pot. Cover and cook over medium heat until meatballs are 165 degrees in the centre, about 17 minutes, frequently toss the meatball gently
- Serve hot.best served with spaghetti,mashed potatoes or rice.
How to make fresh bread crumbs
- Tear up slices of hearty bread (3 days old) into bits to make fresh bread crumbs.
- Blitz in a food processor until tiny crumbs form.
- You can also blend using a blender or even but in a supermarket near you
Meatballs: How to prepare them:
- Soak bread crumbs in water: In a large mixing bowl, combine bread crumbs and milk; if necessary, add more milk 1 tablespoon at a time to properly moisten the bread. Allow to cool while you prepare the ingredients (5 minutes).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground meats and other meatball ingredients: Season over top of items with meat, pork, eggs, onion, garlic, basil, parsley, oregano, and parmesan.
- Gently toss the mixture and break up the meat with your fingertips until all of the ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Form into balls as follows: Form mixture into 1 1/4-inch meatballs with greased hands, about 1 1/4-inches apiece.
